Q: Why do I need air conditioning?

A: Air conditioning allows you to create comfortable temperature and humidity levels to suit you, your workforce and your customers. Modern air conditioners produce clean, healthy, fresh air without noise or draughts. The air is also dehumidified, preventing the formation of mould.

Q: What does air conditioning do?

A: Air conditioning is the process of treating the temperature, humidity, cleanliness and distribution of the air:

1. Cooling: Air conditioners offer precise temperature control. At any time you can create the climate in which you feel most comfortable, making you feel fresh and active, even when conditions outdoors are at their most extreme.

2. Heating: Air conditioners can also provide heating. It is an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional heating as it takes energy from the outside air and brings it inside.

3. Cleaning: Air conditioners produce clean, healthy air. All Daikin indoor units are equipped with filters that remove atmospheric dust, pollen and smoke from the air. The level of filtration can be adjusted to suit the needs of the customer. Filtration is critical for people with allergies.

4. Dehumidifying: In cooling mode an air conditioner dehumidifies the air, creating a feeling of well-being. A correct humidity level also limits the growth of dust mites and mould, which again is of benefit to allergy sufferers. 40-60% is generally considered to be a comfortable level of humidity.

5. Ventilating: Ventilation can be integrated in the air conditioning system. It extracts the inside air and pumps in fresh, conditioned air from outside. It is possible to install ventilation systems without air conditioning. Alternatively ventilation can work when the air conditioning is turned off.

Q: What is the effect on personal performance?

A: There is a close correlation between personal performance and the temperature of the working environment. Hot, cold or damp conditions will certainly not contribute to higher working efficiency.

Q: What is the effect on health?

A: Air conditioning is more than temperature control - it is also humidity control, ventilation and filtration, all of which can have a positive impact on general health and well-being.

Q: What is the effect on indoor equipment?

A: Better conditions indoors can prolong the lifetime of your equipment and appliances.

Q: What kind of air conditioning system do I need?

A: The kind of system you need will largely depend on the space you have:

One room: For a shop, small office or larger living room the Daikin Sky Air product range provides automatic air conditioning.

Up to 4 rooms: The Daikin Multi systems can air condition up to four rooms or one large office space using only one outdoor unit.

More than 4 rooms: If you need air conditioning for more than four rooms, the Daikin VRV systems offer a sophisticated solution for small to large buildings.
