What is Air Conditioning?

Air conditioning as a concept can mean the Heating, Cooling and Ventilation of air in a space or area. Typically though, the term Air Conditioning is used to refer to a system of equipment that cools the air in a room or area, with heating and ventilation an optional feature.

Air Conditioning Systems

The most common application is known as a “split system”. Split systems are ideal for the cooling of a small to medium sized area. Split systems will generally include two main pieces of equipment.

• Indoor unit – This is the equipment that is installed inside a room or area to blow out the cooled air. Units are normally placed either in the ceiling using a “cassette” model or on a wall using a “wall mount” model.
• Condenser Unit – Placed on the outside of the building, this equipment is what cools the air that is circulated.

We also install larger VRF systems which comprise of one large outdoor unit servicing 3/4 indoor units or up to as many as 60 or 70 indoor units.
